UK: The Institute of Refrigeration’s SIRACH Network has organised a visit to Queens Quay, Clydebank, the UK’s largest district heating network.
The network is based on a water-source heat pump, taking heat from the River Clyde and using it to heat local homes and businesses.
The visit on 20 June is only one element of the day, which will focus on the importance of secondary waste heat recovery and how it can be used to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
With a welcome and overview from Graeme Maidment chair of the SIRACH group, the day will also include presentations from a number of experts in the decarbonisation of heating and cooling, as well as a case study of Queen Quays District Heating from David Pearson of Star Refrigeration.
