CANADA: One person has died after an ammonia leak yesterday at an ice-making plant in British Columbia.
The incident at a facility operated by Arctic Glacier in Kamloops, occurred while three contractors were in the building carrying out maintenance work.
Reports suggest a problem with the valve on an ammonia cylinder.
Four people were taken to hospital, one in a critical condition later died. The deceased has not been named but was said to be a man in his 60s.
Arctic Glacier is a leading producer of premium ice products and services with over 100 locations across North America.
