ITALY/UK: In advance of the imminent publication of the F-gas revision proposal, REAL Alternatives is hosting a free webinar on training for technicians focusing on flammable refrigerants and CO2.

This timely event on March 2 tackles the likely inclusion of a requirement for engineers to receive training on alternative refrigerants in the revision of the European F-gas regulations. It will include presentations by leading international experts and be held live in English and simultaneously translated in Armenian, Czech, Italian and Turkish.

Starting with a general introduction by the IIF-IIR director general Didier Coulomb, the attendees will also hear some of the project’s stakeholders (CNI Spain, Shirakatsy Lyceum Armenia, AGFR Romania, SCHKT Czech Republic and SZCHKT Slovak Republic), who will share their training and certification experiences across Europe. The webinar will also include a case study of the programme’s impact on the everyday working practices of a Polish company.

The British project partners, London South Bank University and Institute of Refrigeration, will further illustrate the evolution of REAL Alternatives and its e-learning experience, with presentations by LSBU Prof Graeme Maidment and Institute of Refrigeration CEO Miriam Rodway.

Starting at 11.00 (CET), the participants will learn about good practices for working with CO2 and flammable refrigerants.

The EU’s REAL Alternatives learning programme was established in 2015 for engineers working with low GWP alternative refrigerants. The programme was developed by the UK’s Institute of Refrigeration and international partners to respond to the need for reliable, independent information on the safe, efficient and reliable application of low GWP refrigerants such as carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon, HFOs and ammonia.
