UK: City & Guilds is seeking qualified individuals to become Independent end-point assessors for the new Level 3 RACHP EngTech Trailblazer apprenticeship.

According to the Institute of Refrigeration, City & Guilds now need industry professionals to help the apprentices through their final assessments and make sure that those completing their apprenticeships are all working to the same high standard.

The role involves traveling to various regional centres, observing practical assessments and interviewing apprentices for their final exams. The next training session starts on 4 February and these are held regularly throughout the year.

“Becoming an apprenticeship end point assessor is one way for you to give back to the sector and ensure that the next generation of technicians met the high standards required to work in our industry,” the IoR says.

The part-time assessors (IEPAs) are paid by City & Guilds, with the assessments taking place flexibly to fit with work commitments. It is said to be ideal for someone with a lot of practical knowledge and experience supervising technicians who is looking for a part-time flexible role and wants to improve quality and standards.
